While I cannot speak as to their mechanical abilities because they could not diagnose or repair the problem. What I can speak of is their total lack of
customer respect as well as the total lack of customer communication. While most shops operate on a scheduling system, make an appointment to have work done, here, when you call they say Oh Yeah, bring it in. On Tuesday when I dropped it off I asked how long do you think it will be? The woman say's to me a couple of days. End of the week I call to ask how its going, I get a very curt we're busy we haven't gotten to it yet. Wednesday the next week I drive up there, it's sitting in the back lot so I tell them I'm going to take it home. The owner comes in the office, tells me they are working on it and takes me out to talk to the mechanic and says see here it is. I wish I owned a Monaco, but mine is the Itasca out in the back lot. So they convince that I am up next, and I get assurance from the mechanic that he will call me end of the week and tell me one way or the other what is happening. Well that did not happen, so Saturday I drive back up to Kingman to find out that they cannot diagnose the problem and apparently had no intention of calling me any time soon, so I had them button it up and I brought it home! Now I can say they only charged me, near as I can tell, 1/2 an hour shop time which is probably all they had into it. But I spent probably 150.00 in gas and two major headaches and I'll write this one of to experience. |

Had a wheel bearing fail at 2pm, on the Thursday before Memorial day weekend, about 55 miles north of Kingman AZ. Called Trotter's RV and spoke to Nathan. As long as the axle was still good and we could get the toy hauler to him no later than 8am the next day, he assured us he could get us back on the road the same day. Trotter's RV was the only RV/trailer repair location within a 75 mile radius that offered to attempt a repair. All the other locations
said we had to wait till Monday, 4 days later! After a very long night coordinating a tow to Kingman, Nathan started the repair promptly at 8am the next morning as promised. They repacked all 4 wheel bearings, replaced the bearings and brakes on the one axle, and has us back on the road at 1pm! Last, but not least, our toy hauler was still under warranty. Trotter's RV got approval from Forest River for the warranty repair and did not charge us. |
