Was quoted $120 for service call and $100/hr labor charge. Owner said he would do service call for $60 since he was coming out to do another service
call in our RV park. They worked no more than 1 hour on our A/C and charged $135 for labor (instead of $100 quoted) and charged $95 for the service call (instead of $60 quoted). He said his normal service call fee is $165 AFTER he finished working on the A/C, and we're only 37 miles away. If he charged his other customer here $165, he got $260 for making a 75 mile round-trip drive alone! And he said something is failing in our A/C unit, but couldn't tell us what it was. So we're out $230 for an hour of his time, and still no better off than before he came out. |
