  Company Contact:   Frank Le
Work Done on:   Class A - Diesel
Service Performed:   Took our RV to PFM in Indy and they performed a brake "diagnostic evaluation" and then gave me an estimate of over 5K for fixing front brakes on 2001 Monaco Knight. Coach has air over hydraulic disk brakes. Two master cylinders at 961.00 ea plus 374.00 labor to install the calipers. Two calipers at 427.00 ea. Four pads at 75.00 ea. Two seals at 117.00 each. Two rotors at 192.00 ea. plus 499.00 for labor to install the brakes. Freight 187.00. RV may have needed these things, but price was absurd!

I called the PFM service writer FRANK and asked for the brand names and part numbers of the brake parts they were planning on installing and he refused to give me this information. I then explained about a NHTSA brake recall and said I wanted to be sure and not put "bad" brakes back onto the RV. He said he didn't know anything about a recall and again said it was against PFM policy to give out brand and part number info. I said "so you want me to pay over 5,000 for brake parts and installation and you won't tell me the part brand names or numbers. He said PFM wouldn't even put that information on my invoice! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?

I said no thanks and I would take the coach elsewhere. He said I owed them 2 hours "diagnostic time" for a total of $249.42. I paid the invoice and left. This all took place at PFM Care and Truck Care Center on Hanna Ave in Indianapolis, IN. If you ever need work done on your RV and you stop there, be sure to tell them ol' Norm said HI!
Evaluation of Service Performed:   EXTREMELY POOR! I spent 249.42 for a "diagnostic evaluation" that was overpriced and worth NOTHING to me! I feel they took advantage of me BIG TIME!

  Service Provider Response:
Customer was given a price to evaluate this RV. When we gave him the report he declined to fix it. He told us that if we charged him, the price he agreed to, to check it out he would trash us on the internet. Obviously he kept his word.

We did what was agreed to prior to doing the work. Writing an undeserved bad review should not be a method to extort services for free.

Service Performed:   The brake master cylinder on my 2001 Monaco Knight was losing fluid so I took it to PFM on South Hanna Ave in Indianapolis, IN and they
performed a brake "diagnostic evaluation" and then gave me an estimate of over 5K for fixing front brakes. They said they would have this
estimate in 2-1/2 working days and it took 9 days. Estimate was for two master cylinders at 961.00 ea plus 374.00 labor to install the calipers.
Two calipers at 427.00 ea. Four pads at 75.00 ea. Two seals at 117.00 each. Two rotors at 192.00 ea. plus 499.00 for labor to install the brakes.
Freight was another 187.00. At the time I thought the RV may have needed these things, but the price was absurd!

to give me this information. I then explained about a NHTSA brake recall and said I wanted to be sure and not put "bad" brakes back onto the RV.

I said no thanks and I would take the coach elsewhere. He said I owed them 2 hours "diagnostic time" for a total of $249.42. I paid the invoice and
left, not happy! This all took place at PFM Care and Truck Care Center on Hanna Ave in Indianapolis, IN. I feel they kept my RV for 9 days and
charged me 249.42 for nothing.

I then took RV to an honest place. They found a small leak in one of the brake lines, which was causing the fluid leak. This leak was very easy to
see as the underside of the RV was wet from brake fluid back of the leak, and some of the paint on the frame was peeled off due to the brake
fluid. The second shop replaced the line, then completely checked the brake system and found NO other problems. End result was that one short
piece of brake line and less than $10.00 worth of fluid and the brakes have been good for the last 12 months and more than 5000 miles. I would
never use PFM at this, or any other location, for anything.
