  Company Contact:   Michael Steynberg
Work Done on:   Class A - Gasoline
Service Performed:   Extensive insurance repairs and maintenance work.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   Camping World of Columbia, SC has completely revamped their Service
Department. After extensive repairs on my Winnebago motorhome, I am
completely satisfied. The new Service Manager personally oversaw the
completion of my repairs. I will definitely return to Camping World again.

  Date of Service:   7/8/2015
  Work Done on:   Class C
Service Performed:   A fifty-cent sized hole punched in cab-over fiberglass by a falling tree limb. Columbia Camping World estimated $3200 for
repairs wanting to replace entire skin and trim. Kept the RV for three weeks to complete their estimate that cost me $150.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   Stopped them from proceeding and called saying we'd pick up the camper. We had to schedule a day to do so. Took them an
hour to find the RV when we got there. They moved it out front. Coach battery was dead and they had to give us a jump to
start. They probably had to do so in the first place to bring it up front. When I mentioned the dead battery they suggested
I left the running lights on when I dropped it off weeks earlier. Found an auto shop in town to make the repairs for $325.
Looked good as new, couldn't tell there was any damage to the fiberglass skin at all. Nicely matched the color and clear-
coat. One bad event and they lost this customer, no second chances.

  Date of Service:   7/17/2012
  Work Done on:   Travel Trailer
Service Performed:   My family and I recently had an issue with our travel trailer on our way back home from Myrtle Beach. So we stopped at the exit this Camping World is located on. We were there on a Sunday so we had to leave the camper. We live 2 1/2 hours away. We explained this to the tech who said he would find out what was wrong and call us. We received a call a couple of days later from him stating our axle was going to have to be replaced. We thought it was only going to need a new bearing. I was shocked when I was told this. We have had a bearing go out before and it was $300. The tech said it would probably cost $1500.00-$1800.00 plus labor due to him not being able to locate a axle. He looked and called me back a couple of days later and said he found one and it would be 1800.00. I was shocked. I asked was he positive the axle was bad he said yes. I asked him if it was drivable, so my husband could pick it up and bring it home to repair it himself. He and another tech could not even locate my camper on the yard!! He called me back 10 minutes later and said the camper had to be driven on 3 wheels or towed home. The camper was going to cost 900.00 to have it towed home. My husband drove back there 2 1/2 hours and got there on a Saturday at 8:00. The service tech told him he could get it on Monday, he told him no I need to pick it up today. 2 1/2 hours later they took my husband to the back to get it and it was sitting there with the pin still on the spindle, they had not even took the nuts off hub properly to inspect it, yet they told me it needed a new axle. Camping World charged us $149.00 for the wrong diagnosis. My husband hooked it up and drove it on 3 wheels to Tony's RV center. We left it there and didn't tell them anything. They diagnosed it and called us back. They repaired the bearing and repacked all the other bearing and repaired a light and it was $522.00. The next week the technician from Camping World called and asked me if we picked up our camper or if it was still at Camping World. He was at the Camping World and didn't know if my camper was there! I have never dealt with such idiots!! I will NEVER go back to Camping World. They took full advantage of our situation. They have awful business tactics. We would have been totally taken advantage of if we had not been willing to go get our camper and move it!!!
Evaluation of Service Performed:   We did not let them work on it. We picked it up and took it elsewhere.

  Work Done on:   Class B
Service Performed:   Tried to find 12-volt problem causing coach 12-volt system to shut down for no reason.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   Replaced two rusty auto-breakers with in-line fuses because they didn't have any auto-breakers. Their work caused inability to start generator, only discovered later.

They had never heard of an Low Voltage Disconnect when I asked them if that might be the problem.

Took 4 hours waiting in lobby.

  Date of Service:   1/1/2008
Work Done on:   Class A - Diesel
Service Performed:   Sleep Number bed kept deflating whenever there was no power in coach. I believed there was a leak. Also had a closet door that would not latch.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   Coach returned with door said to be done. Not done same problem as before.

They couldn't get the bed to deflate by watching it. I told them to have someone lay on it. Had someone lay on it, no leak. They finally called Winnebago and was told that the bed reverts to a default setting when power turned off. Winnebago wouldn't pay as there was no problem so Camping World insisted that I pay them for the labor. Last time I have been there!!!
