5th Wheel Trailer

Purchased a 2002 5th wheel. They supplied the hitch. They were very friendly during the purchase and then it went down hill.
The hitch was installed with the carriage bolts in backward, they put the excess thread and nuts in the bed. after much discussion they agreed to do it right with the bolt head in the bed. The trailer rode with the front very high and the back down. They refused to level out the trailer saying that it wouldn't hurt anything - four springs later we leveled it out.

Purchase new Jayco, sales people were nice.
Had a flat tire before leaving the property, nail. They wanted to plug it, I said a new one. They didn't have a new one so it got plugged and used as a spare. I was told to go buy a new tire and they would reimburse me. A few minor items broke on the trailer, they had to order parts. I had to call them weekly to check on parts status. This includes 4 weeks + for a new radio. I ended up going to another Jayco dealer to buy a part this dealer had ordered and never received. I did all the repairs myself, not trusting their service department.

When it came time to buy a 5th wheel, I would have liked a Jayco, but went elsewhere because of the unprofessional treatment of their service & parts department. Nice mom & pop dealer, but their service department leaves a lot to be desired.

The wiring required to correct the problem was fairly complicated ... the tech working on our camper stayed in contact with an engineer at the factory and did an excellent job of correcting the problem

I took my travel trailer in for a slide room problem. I made my appointment. A month in advance (per Camptown's guidelines). The camper sat in their yard for 3 weeks before they even looked at it. When I got the camper back home (a total of 6 weeks since I dropped it off) the slide room was not fixed. The problem was when the slide was deployed, the operation of it was not smooth. Almost like it was loose or something. Camptown told me that they lubed the slide rails and that repaired the problem (even though I told them that I had already done this). After I got the camper home I saw where the housing of the slide-out motor was cracked and was separating. That was the problem all along. I call Camptown and let them know what I had found and I requested to bring the unit back to them on the following Saturday. I was told that I couldn't do that because they delivered new units on Saturday! The deal we finally worked out was that they paid me to replace my own slide out motor. Please keep in mind that the camper was under warranty and I purchased the unit at Camptown.

Did mot meet expectations. Camptown has only one service tech that knows what is going on. He is overloaded with work and has to manage his helpers as well. I also noticed that they farm work out to a mobile service RV tech who performs work for them on their yard.
