Work Done on:
Toy Hauler

Service Performed:
Tried to buy this same toy hauler from Basdens but itwas sold so found one in Dayton, OH. Had a brake chatter and surging on the way home here in Evansville, so took it to Basdens last of December. Was treated very rude by the Service Manager. They told me that I would only get service if they had nothing else to do on their purchasing customers units, I understood. About six weeks later they said it was done and had replaced all four drums. I took it home and it was doing the same thing it did before. So I called and took it back the next week after a total of FOUR months I finally got it back and they said "they liked it". I took it home and it was locking up one rear tire all the way home when the brakes were applied. I got home and felt the drums and three were cold and one left rear was scalding hot. I then desperately took it back to the main Ohio dealer where it came from and they said that one dust cover was loose rolling around in one wheel center and grease was everywhere. They also said there was no evidence that any of the drums were ever changed. The service writer told me when I last picked up my unit, that the manager just wanted it OFF their lot and to "get it out of there" and he was doing this work as a favor to me. The Ohio dealership took it all apart and found that all the brakes were over greased and there was an over saturation situation, and went to Coachmen and the axle manufacturer. Sent new backing plate assemblies and new drums, and made it right

Evaluation of Service Performed:
If Basdens did not want to do the work, they should have not touched my camper. Since they did they put themselves in a bad light by sending my camper out as they said "work
completed". The camper was in a dangerous condition and if I had an accident by the brakes locking up they could be
in trouble. It was as described by the Ohio dealer, that finally did fix it right, as "being treated like the red
haired step child". I would not recommend the service department at Basdens American RV to anyone.
