  Date of Service:   8/1/2016
Work Done on:   Class A - Gasoline
Service Performed:   Our Onan HGJAB Generator would not hold much load.
Engine stayed running at a constant speed but the
generator would trigger an under-frequency on my
inverter with basically any application of load.

I brought it to Cummins Northeast in Springfield,
they troubleshot it and found the main issue was the
belt tensioner assembly was frozen in place with
sand and other gunk the generator stirred up during
our frequent dry camping. They also had to replace
the main chassis, lots of hardware etc, as well as
the belt and tensioner. Also had them adjust valve
lash and do a PM.
Evaluation of Service Performed:   Could not ask for a better outcome. Todd Lombard,
the service manager, was very courteous, answered
all my questions and scheduled the dropoff to
coincide when we were driving by. Pick up was
scheduled the morning we were to arrive at the FMCA
Family Reunion which was in West Springfield,
Leonard had the generator re-installed in a little
over an hour. Leonard mentioned that he had run a
complete load test of the generator before he
reinstalled it and it was staying within specs to a
little over full load.

Total cost quoted was over $1800, but it turned out
the warranty covered all but the PM portion so I
paid only $400! The drive belt and related parts on
this particular generator have a lifetime parts and
labor warranty for the original owner. I was
pleasantly surprised when the cost of replacing the
chassis and hardware was covered as well as the cost
of removing and replacing the generator and the
drive belt and tensioner.
